Which DAWs work with TonalBrain Mix?
TonalBrain Mix works in any DAW that loads AU, VST3 or AAX Native plugins: use AAX in Pro Tools, AU in Logic Pro and GarageBand, and VST3 in Ableton Live, Cubase, Nuendo, Studio One, REAPER, FL Studio and Bitwig Studio.

The table shows the plugin format to use in each DAW. Menu names can be different in your DAW version.
What must I know for all DAWs?
- On a Mac, use only one format (AU or VST3) in one project. If a project has the two formats, the plugin shows “TonalBrain Mix - Format Conflict”.
- All instances must run in the same DAW process to show as tabs in one window. See Set up your session.
- Tracks that are muted, inactive or frozen do not send audio to the plugin during a capture.
Does TonalBrain Mix work in Pro Tools?
Yes. TonalBrain Mix loads in Pro Tools on macOS and Windows as an AAX Native plugin.
Pro Tools loads AAX Native. There is no AAX DSP (HDX) version.

Does TonalBrain Mix work in Logic Pro?
Yes. TonalBrain Mix loads in Logic Pro on macOS as an AU plugin. Logic Pro is for macOS only.

Does TonalBrain Mix work in GarageBand?
Yes. TonalBrain Mix loads in GarageBand on macOS as an AU plugin. GarageBand is for macOS only.
GarageBand has less sidechain routing than Logic Pro.

Yes. TonalBrain Mix loads in Ableton Live on macOS and Windows as a VST3 plugin.
In Settings > Plug-ins, set Use VST3 Plug-in System Folders to on, then click Rescan.

My DAW is not in the list. What do I do?
TonalBrain Mix is a standard AU, VST3 and AAX Native plugin. If your DAW is not in the list, contact us and tell us your DAW and its version.
