TonalBrain Mix Quick Guide

To use TonalBrain Mix, load it on your tracks, play your song and click GET SUGGESTIONS. This guide tells you how, step by step.

  1. 01Get startedTo start, install TonalBrain Mix, put it on a track in your DAW and sign in with your TonalBrain account. New accounts get 3 free credits.
  2. 02Your first mixTo get your first mix, put TonalBrain Mix on your main tracks, click ANALYSIS, play the busiest part of your song, then click GET SUGGESTIONS.
  3. 03Mix the whole songTo mix the whole song, capture up to 4 sections of 10 seconds each, for example verse and chorus. TonalBrain Mix then gives one mix that works for all of them.
  4. 04Presets, edits and intensityEach analysis is saved as a preset, so you can change any setting, compare presets and go back to the suggestion at any time.
  5. 05Save your projectYou only save your DAW project: it saves all settings, effects, edits and presets of TonalBrain Mix. You do not save files in the plugin.
  6. 06Set up your sessionPut TonalBrain Mix on each track after your own clean-up plugins and before reverb and delay, not on the master bus. For more than 24 tracks, use buses.
  7. 07Sidechain setupTo finish the sidechain setup, open the plugin of the track in the message, set the trigger track as its sidechain input in your DAW, then play your song.
  8. 08Problems and questionsIf TonalBrain Mix does not show in your DAW, quit the DAW fully, open it again and rescan your plugins. This page also gives the fixes for other common problems.
