Problems and questions
If TonalBrain Mix does not show in your DAW, quit the DAW fully, open it again and rescan your plugins. This page also gives the fixes for other common problems.
Common problems
| Problem | What to do |

| The DAW does not show TonalBrain Mix. | Quit the DAW fully and open it again. Then rescan your plugins in the DAW settings. |
| A track does not show as a tab. | Use the same format (AU or VST3) on all tracks. Do not run the plugin in a separate process (see Set up your session). |
| A tab shows “?”. | The name is not an instrument. Click the track-name field and select one. |
| The plugin stays on WAITING FOR PLAYBACK. | Start playback in your DAW. |
| PLAYBACK PAUSED | Playback stopped during the capture. Play again for 10 seconds without a stop. |
| “Some tracks were not heard” | These tracks were silent, muted or inactive. Capture a section where they play. |
| “Cannot capture: track limit is 24” | Remove TonalBrain Mix from some tracks, or use buses (see Set up your session). |
| “No credits remaining.” | Click Get Credits to buy a pass. |
| The settings change back after an analysis. | Your DAW has automation on these controls. Remove it. |
| The login screen shows when you open a project. | Sign in again. Your settings are not affected. |
| A copied track lost its settings. | Copies start with default settings. Do a new analysis. |
Questions
How do I mix more than one section of my song?
Capture up to 4 sections, then click GET SUGGESTIONS one time. See Mix the whole song.
Do the settings change with the song timeline?
No. You get one mix for the whole song. Use DAW automation for changes in one part. See One mix for the whole song.
Do I lose my work when I quit my DAW?
No, if you save your project. Only the captured sections are not kept. See Save your project.
Where do I put TonalBrain Mix in my plugin chain?
After your own processing, before reverb and delay. Put reverb and delay on sends. See Set up your session.
Does TonalBrain Mix send my audio to the internet?
No. Your audio stays on your computer. The plugin sends only measurements of your tracks, with the track names and the genre.
Can I mix without an internet connection?
Yes. You need a connection only to sign in and to get suggestions.
Does the plugin add latency?
No.
